John Lewis preached the importance of showing up for communities in need, people who may not always look like you. 

Tomorrow, Saturday July 25 at 3pm, NE Lake County Indivisible will be holding a vigil at Waukegan City Hall in honor of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo and Johan Sebastian Guerrero, the most recent victims of ICE murder. Join us as we stand together with community, share in this pain, and demand Justice for Lorenzo. Justice for Johan. Justice for All. ICE Out.

Thank you for a successful Good Trouble season! We had three fun events accomplishing:

• 675 GOTV postcards
• 2095 whistle kits
• 38 attendees for our Good Trouble Teach-In
• 4 hours and hundreds of cars exposed to the Visibility Brigade Good Trouble message

We hope everyone feels inspired to take action and get into “Good Trouble, Necessary Trouble” just like John Lewis!

Election Day will be here before you know it. Efforts have started to plan for election protection at the Midterms. There’s still time to join this important work.

Have you ever considered bringing a friend to an action, but been unsure how to get them involved? Or wanted to table with us, but felt nervous about what to say? Our Outreach Team is hosting a training on Sun 8/2 at 1pm to give you the tools you need to move people from conversation to action. Whether it is for election protection, rapid response, or a swift response to fascist actions, we need more volunteers to swell our ranks.

Outreach Team members are asked to attend, but all are welcome! Register on Mobilize to join us for this special training.

We will resume our regular General Meeting on August 27 at 7pm in Gurnee as we review our Summer of Action and launch into MIDTERMS SEASON! We will also be recognizing some of our key volunteers, so you won’t want to miss out!
