There are tons of important roles on the Action Team.
We’re organizing teams to focus on specific activities to move our goals forward.
Election Team – The Election Team provides opportunities for individuals to learn and participate in our political process through civic engagement. Our main efforts have focused behind the scenes investigating candidates and policies typically found on our ballots. We encourage members to participate as Poll Watchers, in Post Carding Events, and in GOTV Canvassing (Get Out The Vote). The Election Team currently meets every 2nd and 4th Tuesdays. Jerry prefers Slack as the primary contact but also responds via gdstingle@nelakecounty-indivisible.org
Action Team – Volunteer at Rallies, be a safety marshal, plan speakers, greet participants, manage media, clean up crew, and more for local events.
Fundraising Team – Many of our efforts require supplies and equipment. Help us achived our goals by pursuing grants and raising funds.
Outreach Team – The NELC-I Outreach Team plays a key role in executing the NELC-I strategic principles within the community, person to person and organization to organization. We will accomplish that by following these principles:
- We will show up for our community and our allies in symbolic and tangible ways.
- We will host or contribute to mission-relevant activities that are consistent and accessible to participants with different strengths & capabilities.
- We will educate community members about how the authoritarian agenda impacts them individually as well as their community, ensuring they are empowered with actions to support themselves and others.
- We will create partnerships to amplify the NELC-I strategic principles and aligned causes around anti-authoritarianism, facilitating and utilizing connections to provide resources and information across and outside of NELC-I.
- We will build our capacity by recruiting new members to NELC-I and continuing to engage current members, liaising with other teams to make their work more effective.
Want to be part of this important work? We meet 1-2 Sundays a month from 1-2:30pm at Cook Memorial Library in Libertyville (click Events at the top of this page to see when our next meeting is and register). We also collaborate constantly on Slack, so join the #team-outreach channel there or email connect@nelakecounty-indivisible.org to get connected to Vivianne, our Outreach Team Lead, who can help you get set up from there!
Communications -Communications are the key to success for a volunteer org like NE Lake County Indivisible! Volunteers on the Comms Team help with all kinds of tasks to include newsletter writing, data entry, making graphics, researching articles to share, social media posts, writing press releases, and more. Whether you are an expert or beginner, prefer short or long form writing, enjoy creative design or data entry, write formal or casual text, come with technical or social skill, we need you! No experience needed.
Comms Team meetings are currently biweekly at 7pm on Wednesdays via Zoom. We communicate in our #team-communications Slack channel between meetings, or you can reach out to ksalyer@nelakecounty-indivisible.org to share ideas or get connected. (
