The fight to protect voting rights never ends, and right now, we’re witnessing a Jim-Crow-era effort from politicians and their billionaire friends to restrict our freedoms, silence our voices, and consolidate power.
But in America, we choose our leaders. We will decide our future. The same spirit that fueled Selma, Montgomery, and the March on Washington lives on in our unified action.
Six years after the passing of Congressman Lewis, NE Lake County Indivisible is organizing several Good Trouble events in our community to carry the torch, continue the legacy of John Lewis, and pass it forward to future generations. Please join us at any or all of our July Good Trouble events, as National Indivisible calls us to “Teach, Reach, and Preach” in honor of John Lewis. |
In place of our regular monthly General Meeting on Thursday 7/23 at 7pm in Gurnee, we will be hosting a Good Trouble Teach-In. An abridged presentation of the documentary “John Lewis: Good Trouble” will be viewed, followed by a facilitated discussion that will leave participants feeling equipped, empowered, and inspired. 🎬
